My name is Christian Graham and I came to the practice in 2005.

I have slowly integrated the Ashtanga method into my life, beginning my study of the practice with Peter Nilsson and Jude Hynes at the Auckland Yoga Academy in the years 2006-2008 completing a YA500 recognised training.

After returning home to my native Australia I based myself in Byron Bay to continue my studies with Dena Kingsberg for the years 2009-2015. During this period I had the privilege of completing her 3 year Committed Practitioners Program and receiving ongoing one-on-one mentoring.

Over this entire period I maintained regular trips to Mysore, India, to study with Patthabi jois, Sarawathi Rangaswamy and Sharath Jois receiving their authorisation to teach in 2014.

In October 2015 I opened The Ashtanga Room in Byron Bay Industrial Estate before moving to our new home shala in November 2016.

Outside yoga, I love surfing, collecting vintage surfboards and spending time with my beautiful partner and raising our beautiful son.

My name is Alessandra and I came to the Ashtanga practice at the end of 2008 at the school of Elena De Martin in Milan, Italy and connected to the method immediately, cultivating adedicated daily practice. From 2012 I have been studying with Dena Kingsberg here in Byron Bay, Australia or at her workshops around the world.

Four years ago l left a career job at Google in Europe to fully dedicate myself to teach Ashtanga. Whilst studying in India I discovered the (Ayurvedic Yoga Massage) and (Energy Healing) techniques and now incorporate these complimentary methods into my holistic approach to treating and healing people.

I have always felt an affinity to helping and healing others beginning with assisting my mum when I was a child to ease the pain of her polio. I find yoga and my treatments are a great support for both my daily life and my clients.

When I am not working, I enjoy cuddling, playing and singing with my little family, experimenting in the kitchen, or rekindling my childhood passion for classical piano.

In 2015 with my partner Christian we opened The Ashtanga Room with the hope and ambition to create a safe and friendly environment to share our yoga and treatments and help others to find the peace and healing they need.
